LeBoeuf Little League

September 14,2006

The LeBoeuf Little League held their monthly meeting at the Waterford Boro Building. Rod Smith called the meeting to order at 7:12 pm.

ATTENDANCE: Darlene Haibach, Steph Mitchell, Rod Smith, Brian Webster, Ed Vorpagel, Brian Mitchell, Randy Amon, Garry Sargent, Joe Welch, Stuart Carr, Gary Zeigler, Steve Krolczyk, Paul Peters, Mike Falk.

SECRETARY: Minutes were read and approved by Joe Welch and seconded by Ed Vorpagel.

TREASURER’S REPORT: See attached report. Approved by Brian Mitchell and seconded by Stuart Carr.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: Darlene explained the offers by Stefanelli’s, Romolo’s and Pulako’s. The best offer is still Pulako’s. Motion was made by Joe Welch to go with Pulako’s and seconded by Gary Zeigler. A vote was taken and all were in favor.

PICTURE COMMISSIONER: May 5, 2007.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: New pin design not done yet.

BASEBALL COMMISSIONER: Fall ball going well, they are playing two 5-inning games.

SOFTBALL COMMISSIONER: 9-10 and 11-12 year-old teams went to Saegertown tournament last weekend. Ed’s team went 1-2; Mark’s team 3-0 and Brian’s team 0-2.

UMPIRE COMMISSIONER: No report

TOURNAMENT COMMISSIONER: No report.

SCHEDULING COMMISSIONER: No report. Shelli McCall may take this potion possibly.

UNIFORM COMMISSIONER: No report, still have 66 pants to collect.

FIELD MAINTENANCE: Approximately $500.00 damage was done to field #1 at the complex; someone drove a vehicle through the field. Will discuss with Kevin Litz the possibility of getting supplies to make barriers at both entrances to keep vehicles out of the complex. Brian will order pond silt to supply the appropriate fields. Gregg will try to brush hog one more time this season. Mike is not available to mow, needs volunteers to finish season.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: Frank not here-no report. Need to compare prices between Erie Sports Store and J&S.

INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: Joe is resigning this potion but is willing to help Travis take over. Joe wants liability portion pd only by January 1, approximately $1,100.00. Joe did receive insurance policy for the tractor.

OLD BUSINESS: Mark has information on the dugouts, has some drawings but no $ amounts. Vo-tech won’t do cement/block.

NEW BUSINESS:

    1. Mandatory pitch count for 2007 season, counters cost between $10-$30.00.
    2. Need to run some sort of fence to eliminate access to the entrances to the complex.
    3. Joe Lapaglia was given a key to the complex to help keep an eye on vehicles attempting to enter.
    4. In-door clinics need to be booked soon to get gym times.
    5. Fair Board member asked Rod to call certain individuals and explain how we were not charging the Fair Board to use the field. Rod handled the situation.
    6. The 11-year-old all-star team thanking the league for their donation and support wrote lots of thank-yous.
    7. Brian will call Ray Showman and Garry will call Wander regarding field 4 only. Bids were reviewed from Wander as well as Team Turf.
    8. Jim Moats used the summit field and left the door open upstairs. Rod will speak to him directly to not have this happen in the future.
    9. Paul Peters dropped in and asked permission to borrow the EZ-ups for the flag football concession area. The league gave approval.
