LeBoeuf Little League

The LeBoeuf Little League held their monthly meeting at the Waterford Boro Building. Rod Smith called the meeting to order at 8:55 pm.

ATTENDANCE: Rod Smith, Darlene Haibach, Garry Sargent, Mark Rose, Mike Falk, Stu Carr, Brian Mitchell, Jeff Kuzma, Jeff Jones, Greg Roberts, Ed Vorpagel, Randy Amon, Steve Krolczyk, Mike Herring, Brian Webster, Shelli McCall, Brian Smith, Bob Young, Joe Welsh.

SECRETARY: Minutes were read and approved by Ed Vorpagel and seconded by Mike Herring.

TREASURER’S REPORT: See attached report; approved by Greg Roberts and seconded by mark Rose.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: Fundraiser is complete. Sponsorships have all been paid/22 signs sold. Candy bar profit was $5,418.00 and coupon/buyout profit was $3,020.00. Stromboli pick up is May 19th at the Waterford Elementary School, approximately 9500 sold. Total player count was 447; family rate 24 and late sign ups were 32.

PICTURE COMMISSIONER: Pictures will be ready May 19 with Stromboli delivery. There were a few Sea Wolves present at picture day signing autographs.

BASEBALL COMMISSIONER: There was a request from the 7-8 year old boys teams to have a meeting to go over rules. This will be set up. Practice balls were handed out. Fun day in the park was requested from T-ball and 7-8 year old teams. Encourage pitch count to get signed by coaches or umpires. Take average of count if off, then round down. Home team should drag field. All-star meeting is June 1st at 9 pm.

SOFTBALL COMMISSIONER: Harborcreek tournament for Major girls is May 19th and 20th. There are three teams participating. There is a Tournament in Titusville on May 26 for the Minor girls, one team is participating. Saegertown Tournament is June 16-17th, 2 teams will participate. District schedule is available see Jeff Kuzma.

UMPIRE COMMISSIONER: Everything good. Do not email for cancellations. Throat protectors must be on masks. This is a Little League Rule. Frank will make sure every coach has them. Time slip rates for minor/majors are okay. For Junior and Senior the plate and field will be $15 each. Look at rates for next year to possibly adjust.

TOURNAMENT COMMISSIONER: Garry’s tournament is June 9-10th, 12 teams have committed. Need help with concession stands, fields, etc. Tom Roberts asked us to host 9-10 year old "B" team tournament. Possible host same time as girls or around the same time. Have youth umpires with parents help. Mark will check with coaches to pursue.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: Sold a lot of shirts/hoodies at Picture Day. All Star Game ad to Benefit Barber Center; Jeff Kuzma made motion for ½ page ad, Stu Carr seconded. List seniors in ad, 7 total, Joe Welch donating $50 to LLL, will have full-page ad. Pins are ordered. 10 signs are done and will be up soon. Need help putting up.

SCHEDULING COMMISSIONER: Fields need marked. Call Shelli at the house and not her cell phone.

UNIFORM COMMISSIONER: Balance of uniforms is paid. We saved $1,000.00 with Arena, just need lead-time.

FIELD MAINTENANCE: Dirt needed at McCall’s field/full load. FLB School is cutting down on field cutting. Robison #2 (back field) just use for practice, no games, schedule until end of May only. Pond silt is needed on Robison and Town fields. Lime at Heard’s if needed. Order another skid load. The Kubota had a gearbox fail, Pennocks repaired and rebuilt. Push mower and weed whacker needed. A motion was made by Jeff Kuzma and seconded by Jeff Jones to purchase a weed whacker/push mower and roller for under $1,000.00. A vote was taken all in favor. Fields 1 & 2 need re-seeded or fixed. Need stakes around gate and across field between 3 & 4 at complex. Gate needs to be added after t-ball field #3 or remove gate at bottom. Send thank-you to Bobcat of Erie for letting us use mower during the time our Kubota was down. Give John and Fern Carr our logo shirts.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: Mike Herring to check into "L" screens/steel tubes with net. Jeff Jones made a motion and Mark Roses seconded to purchase 3 for $600.00. A vote was taken; all in favor. Add to web page list of equipment available for coaches to use (pitching equipment).

INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: Add-on’s all in, balance due June 1st. May 25th, list will be submitted. Pay balance of insurance and balance of tractor insurance.

OLD BUSINESS: Fun day is June 30; turn in pants and equipment that day as well. Shelli McCall will get everything set up. Teams to participate are t-ball, pee wee and minor’s. Garbage cans need to be put down at end of road at complex.

NEW BUSINESS: Order wash station for tournaments; June 9, boys tournament and July 11 girls States tournament. Dugouts at Summit will be brick, start in the fall. Perry Highway Auxiliary would like to purchase electronic score board for Summit Complex. Information was given to them.

NEXT MEETING DATE/TIME: June 14 at 9 pm.

ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Stu Carr to adjourn the meeting at 11:45 pm and this was seconded by Ed Vorpagel.
