LeBoeuf Little League

March 12, 2007

The LeBoeuf Little League held their monthly meeting at the Waterford Boro Building. Rod Smith called the meeting to order at 7:12 pm.

ATTENDANCE: Garry Sargent, Mark Rose, Darlene Haibach, Stu Carr, Brian Mitchell, Jeff Kuzma, Doug Brace, Jeff Jones, Randy Amon, Gregory Glazier, Ed Vorpagel, Bob and Brenda Young, Laura and Mark Lockhart, Brian Smith, Steve Krolczyk, Val Rose, Gary Zeigler, Rod Smith and Mike Falk.

SECRETARY: The minutes were read and approved by Randy Amon and seconded by Val Rose.

TREASURER’S REPORT: See attached report, approved by Mark Rose and seconded by Mark Lockhart.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: 1/3 of fundraiser still outstanding. Need to look at ordering more Candy Bars next year. Sponsorship good. Have 32 sponsors, Need to start getting sign sponsors. Need 20 sign sponsors to get better price. 4X3, same price as 4X4, signs face home plate. 2nd sign can be purchased to go outside fence facing route 97. (If sponsor wants sign by road-2 signs need to be purchased for $300.00, 1 inside, 1 outside fence) A motion was made by Jeff Kuzma and this was seconded by Brian Mitchell, all in favor. Bobcat sign, LLL will purchase a sign for outside of fence for appreciation for their donation of equipment, grandfathered in where the sign is located. A motion was made by Stuart Carr and seconded by Jeff Jones, all in favor. Stromboli’s will remain at the same cost of $2.50. 40 or more sold, the seller will receive $5.00. A new item this year is Chicken. Papers will be given out at the coaches meeting. Forms will be turned in on picture day (May 5th) and delivery date will be May 19th.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: Website updated.

BASEBALL COMMISSIONER:

79 (T-ball players): 8 teams

59 (7-8 year olds): 5 teams

60 (Minor Boys): 5 teams

36 (Major Boys): 3 teams

46 (Junior Boys): 4 teams

1 Senior Boys team

**Total of 26 teams for baseball. Coaches in good shape. Draft day is March 18, 2007 from 1-6 pm at the Waterford Fire Hall. Coaches meeting April 22 at Summit at 5 pm.

SOFTBALL COMMISSIONER: In-door clinics are going well. Jim Moats is helping at the pitching clinics.

1 (13-14 year old team)

**Total of 10 teams. Coaches are in good shape. Need 12" softballs for the 11 and up girls. Draft info and coaches meeting info same as boys.

UMPIRE COMMISSIONER: Schedule clinics at schools for more room, to have hands on experience, dates and times to be given at April meeting. Approximately 10 signed up. The umps will receive a shirt and hat. A motion was made by Garry Sargent and seconded by Mark Rose, all in favor.

TOURNAMENT COMMISSIONER: District meeting held; rule changes; all star team that has few than 13 players you can only have 2 coaches on the field, who has the most team players on their roster decided home/away, if same number coin toss. Player can be in or from another district if ok'd by their President and also President of District where they want to go. 8 sections; 4 teams in each, split states, counts down the length to the state tournament. 4 new Presidents in our District, brackets picked, Garry has copies, June 9-10th is LeBoeuf Major Boys tournament.

SCHEDULING COMMISSIONER: No report.

UNIFORM COMMISSIONER: No report. Waiting for draft day to obtain numbers.

FIELD MAINTENANCE: Pond silt did not make it to Summit. Ashley/Kuzma will donate York rake for cost of sign, will fit on Kubota. A motion was made by Jeff Kuzma and seconded by Mark Rose, all in favor to get rake.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: Frank ordered equipment, first aid kits, score books, etc. Joe from J&S passed away.

INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: No report.

OLD BUSINESS: Not part of Little League for tax-exempt. Harborcreek 9-10 year old girls tournament in May limited to 2 teams from each area.

NEW BUSINESS: Donate $100.00 for Joe Slbuvda to the Kidney Association.

NEXT MEETING DATE/TIME: April 12, 2007 at 8:30 pm.

ADJOURNMENT: Mark Rose made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 pm and this was seconded by Paul Peters.
