LeBoeuf Little League
June 14, 2007
The LeBoeuf Little League held their monthly meeting at the Waterford Boro Building. Rod Smith called the meeting to order at 9:22 pm.
ATTENDANCE: Jeff Kuzma, Darlene Haibach, Steph Mitchell, Rod Smith, Garry Sargent, Mark Rose, Brian Webster, Mike Falk, Ed Vorpagel, Mike McNerney, Garrett Sargent, Brian Mitchell, Stuart Carr, Brian Smith and Shelli McCall.
SECRETARY: Minutes were read and approved by Mark Rose and seconded by Mike Falk.
TREASURER’S REPORT: See attached report; the report is pended due to review and will be modified and approved at the next meeting.
SPECIAL PROJECTS: $170.00 is due from one team for Stromboli’s; made approximately $10,000 in profit. Received letter from Pulako’s asking for a commitment for the 2007-2008 season. Mark Rose made a motion to commit to 350 boxes of candy bars and this was seconded by Stuart Carr. A vote was taken and all were in favor. Sponsorship signs were awesome, make approximately $3,000.00. Next year will increase the size to 3 X 6 and place them 10 feet apart.
PICTURE COMMISSIONER: Sonney’s reimbursed the league $533 for picture day. The sponsors received plaque of their team.
BASEBALL COMMISSIONER: Still working on all-star teams. All in all a great season. Pitch count went pretty well. There was a pee-wee meeting to go over the rules and the rules are now up to about 23 but all coaches seem to be on the same page. There will be a "B" boy’s 9-10 year old tournament here at the complex July 5-8, approximately 8 teams will participate. June 20 is the Millcreek tournament for 11 and 12 year old boys.
SOFTBALL COMMISSIONER: The 11 and 12-year-old all-star teams went to Saegertown for a tournament. The 12-year-old team took 2nd place. There is no junior team for districts.
UMPIRE COMMISSIONER: Val reports that all in all it went pretty well. There were a couple of coaches that didn’t call their umps on rain out nites. It was discussed that umps that arrive because coaches didn’t notify them should receive $5.00 for their time. A motion was made by Mark Rose that with umpire commissioner approval that these umps receive $5 when they are not notified, seconded by Stuart Carr. A vote was taken and all were in favor.
TOURNAMENT COMMISSIONER: There are a total of 7 teams advancing to District play, 4 boys teams and 3 girls teams. (one 9-10 year old boys, one 11 year old boys, one 12 year old boys and one 14 year old boys team; one 9-10 year old girls, one 11 year old girls and one 12 year old girls team). No junior girls, senior girls or senior boys teams advancing. Rod has district tournament affidavits to distribute to the 7 teams. All teams will receive a new box of balls for district play. The district meeting is June 26, must have all original birth certificates and appropriate paper work for each team.
The 9-10 year old girls district tournament will be held at the complex for the second year. Mark Rose made a motion to order oil dry, second by Brian Mitchell. A vote was taken, all in favor. Rod will pick up oil dry. Tournament Directors will be Garry Sargent and Mark Rose will ask Kevin Litz if he is interested in helping as well.
SCHEDULING COMMISSIONER: All is good.
PUBLIC RELATIONS: Pins are in. We will set aside enough pins for the kids that are involved in fun day. They will be sold for $2.50 each.
UNIFORM COMMISSIONER: Coaches are to contact Brian Smith with what uniforms they want for District play. All uniforms will be ordered from Championship Awards.
FIELD MAINTENANCE: No dirt made it to McCall’s field or complex field #2. The mower deck needs to come off when using rear equipment.
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: Waste Management gave the okay to move the gate up from the lower entrance. Frank will order balls for all district teams. Their L-screen from the Erie Sport Store was $75.00.
INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: No report.
OLD BUSINESS: Shelli has organized fun day schedule. She will reserve the park field for fun day. Sea Wolves game is the same night.
NEW BUSINESS:

Thank you to Electrical Repair Technology, LLC to repair pitching machine.
Thank you to Waste Management for dumpsters and garbage cans at the
Tournament; Rich Carniewski.
Perhaps next fall the work on the summit complex in reference to dugouts will become a reality.
Discussion of Scholarship money for a senior boy and girl who has played LeBoeuf Little League. We will get more info on this matter and discussion later in the season.
