LeBoeuf Little League

January 8, 2009

The LeBoeuf Little League held their monthly meeting at the Waterford Boro Building. 

The Meeting was called to order at 8:10pm.

ATTENDANCE: Brian Mitchell, Jeff Kuzma, Stuart Carr, Heather Johnston, Ed Vorpagel, Randy Amon, Bob Young, Darlene Haibach, Garry Sargent, Colleen Strain, Mark Rose, Mark McNerny, Brian Webster, Mike Falk, Mike Hering.

SECRETARY: The minutes were read, corrections made and Brian Mitchell motioned to accept, seconded by Stuart Carr.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Report was read by Darlene Haibach and approved by Mark Rose and seconded by Randy Amon. See attached report. Garry stated LLL’s financial report needs to be turned into Little League International-Jeff Kuzma will handle this. Also, the 990EZ needs completed.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: Darlene asked what had been decided regarding the fundraising candy; Mark Rose suggested LLL purchase 375 Pulakos candy bars and only mix 275 if LLL can return the unmixed, unpurchased candy bars-Darlene will check with Pulakos. Dr. Lichtinger has expressed interest in becoming a team sponsor or purchasing a field sign. Paul Peters will no longer be organizing the stromboli orders-LLL will try to find a new volunteer to take over.

PICTURE COMMISSIONER: No new updates.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: LLL signed up with Dick’s Sporting Goods to be the official sporting goods store for the league.

SOFTBALL COMMISSIONER: There will be a baseball and softball Coaches’ Clinic at Iroquois on February 22, 2009, at the cost of $250, provided by LLL; the District Meeting will follow the close of the clinic at 4:30. There will also be a softball Coaches’ Clinic in Northwestern on January 17, 2009.

BASEBALL COMMISSIONER: The open gyms will begin February 3, 2009

CHALLENGER DIVISION COMMISSIONER: Heather Johnston reported she has received her first sponsor in the Animal Hospital in Waterford-they have donated $150 for the Challenger Division. She is also trying to gain sponsorship from Meadowbrook, Country Fair and Advanced Welding and Technology. The Challenger Division is open to any players outside LLL. Heather can be reached at 796-2099 or 460-1345 with any questions.

UMPIRE COMMISSIONER: No updates

TOURNAMENT COMMISSIONER: No updates

SCHEDULING COMMISSIONER: No updates

UNIFORM COMMISSIONER: No updates

EQUIPMENT COMMISSIONER: No updates

INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: Darlene will be paying the insurance bill this month.

OLD BUSINESS: Signs ups to be held at the Waterford Firehall, Mill Village Boro Building and Summit Township Building on February 21, 24 and 27. The last sign up date will be March 13. The draft will be held on March 15. The LLL sign ups will be advertised in the Village Voice, Erie Daily Times and Summit Township Newsletter. Sign up information will be dispersed to the schools on February 11. Mike Hering reported he is working on the State Grant money, but is in the preliminary stages. Mike attended the Erie Community Foundation meeting and gave information regarding the meeting--see attached.

NEW BUSINESS: The staffing at sign ups will be discussed at the February meeting.
