LeBoeuf Little League

February 12, 2009

The LeBoeuf Little League held their monthly meeting at the Waterford Boro Building. The Meeting was called to order at 8:15pm.

ATTENDANCE: Brian Mitchell, Jeff Kuzma, Stuart Carr, Heather Johnston, Ed Vorpagel, Randy Amon, Bob Young, Darlene Haibach, Garry Sargent, Colleen Strain, Mark Rose, Mark McNerny, Brian Webster, Mike Falk, Mike Hering, Steve Krolczyk and Mike Falk

SECRETARY: The minutes were read, corrections made and Stuart Carr motioned to accept, seconded by Mike Falk.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Report was read by Darlene Haibach and approved by Ed Vorpagel and seconded by Randy Amon. See attached report.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: Darlene stated the candy will be available February 17 for pick up at the Waterford Firehall. 330 boxes were ordered and will be $40 per mixed box. Mill Village will get 50 boxes, Summit 100 and Waterford 180 boxes. Colleen Strain has offered to take over the Stromboli ordering-she will contact Paul Peters for further information.

PICTURE COMMISSIONER: No new updates.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: Garry has contacted the Village Voice who will advertise for the LLL sign-ups, the Erie Times News and Summit Newsletters will also contain the sign-up info. Garry stated the website is updated and lists the sign-up specifics as well as printable registration forms and open gym nights.

SOFTBALL COMMISSIONER: Ed stated the open gyms are under way and there has been good participation with the younger girls, but not a good turnout with the older girls.

BASEBALL COMMISSIONER: Mark stated there has been a good turnout at the open gyms.

CHALLENGER DIVISION COMMISSIONER: Heather Johnston reported she has another sponsor with "Pediatric Ophthalmology" practice and they have sponsored the division with $350. Heather states she has received many inquiries from interested parents regarding the new division. Heather is in need of our tax identification number for 2 possible sponsors in MeadowBrook and Country Fair. Garry suggested Heather get on the Little League International (LLI) website for recommended equipment for Challenger Divisions.

UMPIRE COMMISSIONER: Garry said umpire fees are increasing for Districts.

TOURNAMENT COMMISSIONER: No updates

SCHEDULING COMMISSIONER: No updates

UNIFORM COMMISSIONER: Darlene said Brian Smith will be taking care of the uniforms this year. Shirts will be $4.40 for coaches, $5.50 for players and hats will be $3.90. There will be a 10% discount applied. The shirts and hats will be purchased from "Arena Apparel and Sports".

EQUIPMENT COMMISSIONER: Ed requested the rental on the storage unit be continued until summer as the equipment has been staying dry and rodent-free. Ed suggested LLL give a reminder at the Coaches’ Meeting that the equipment is NOT to be kept and used for personal use and needs to be returned at the end of the season.

FIELD MAINTENANCE: No updates.

INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: Darlene stated insurance is paid.

OLD BUSINESS: February 22 will be the Coaches’ Clinic at Iroquois, followed by the District Meeting at 4:30. Garry will place calls to the coaches reminding them of the clinic. Mike Hering reported he will have the State Grant contract next week. LLL does qualify for a State Grant, with a deadline of August 3, 2009. He has contacted Saegertown, who received a State Grant in the past for their dugouts. Saegertown will be sending Mike a copy of their dugout blueprint and their State Grant information.

NEW BUSINESS: The 2009 LLL Charter has been received and the 2009 rule books are in.

ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Stuart Carr and seconded Brian Mitchell to adjourn the meeting at 9:50pm.
