LeBoeuf Little League
April 8, 2010
The LeBoeuf Little League held their monthly meeting at the Waterford Boro Building. The meeting was called to order at 8:05pm, by President, Garry Sargent.
ATTENDANCE: Garry Sargent, Darlene Haibach, Trevor Donnell, Ed Vorpagel, Mark Rose, Mark McNerney, Mike Thiemann, Heather Johnston, Arnold Wolf, Brian Webster, Sam Weaver, Steve Lesik, Val Rose, Jeff Kuzma, Steve Proctor, Brian Mitchell and Mark Lockhart
SECRETARY: The minutes were read by Darlene Haibach. Mark McNerney made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Ed Vorpagel.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Report was read by Darlene Haibach and approved by Mark Rose and seconded by Arnold Wolf. See attached report. Revised March report was given to secretary.
SPECIAL PROJECTS: There are still 28 players that have not turned in their candy fundraiser money. Their uniforms will be pulled until paid. Stromboli packets will be given out at the Coaches’ meeting. The sale will begin on April 17 and all orders and money need to be turned in on picture day, May 1. Orders will be available for pick up on May 15. Coaches will be called with times and place.
PUBLIC RELATIONS: No new updates.
SOFTBALL COMMISSIONER: Open gyms are done. Mill Village girls’ field will not only be used for practices. 2 refunds need to be issued to the senior girls, due to not having a team for them. Girls will start playing their games April 26, 2010.
BASEBALL COMMISSIONER: Draft schedules are completed and fields have been assigned. 18 coaches attended the Coaches Clinic. Games will begin April 26, 2010. Coaches meting will be held April 17 at the Summit Township Building at 6:pm.
CHALLENGER DIVISION COMMISSIONER: 16 players have signed up. The Challenger players are invited to play on Memorial Day in Union City. More volunteers are needed to help with the players. Their games are Saturday 10:00 to 11:30 on Field 3 at the Waterford Complex beginning on April 24 until end of June.
UMPIRE COMMISSIONER: Umpire clinic will be April 18 at 6:00 at the Waterford complex. In case of rain, will be held at the Summit Township Building. Rulebooks, schedules will be given. All umpire time slips must be turned in by August 31 to receive payment. A motion was made by Jeff Kuzma to have the umpire fees remain the same. Seconded by Brian Mitchell.
TOURNAMENT COMMISSIONER: No new updates
SCHEDULING COMMISSIONER: No new updates
UNIFORM COMMISSIONER: Uniforms will be available for pick up on April 24 from 6:00pm until 7:30pm at Waterford complex, Field 5.
EQUIPMENT COMMISSIONER: Coaches need to contact Ed Vorpagel to get equipment. Only a few coaches showed when time was set.
FIELD MAINTENANCE: April 24 will be field clean up day. Rain date will be April 25. It is okay to play on township field. A thank you noted needs to be sent to Ron Troyer for the donation of ponsill. Make sure bases are put away when games are complete and don’t hit the base pockets, mounds and plates. Port-a-pots will be put on the following field on April 15: Waterford Elementary, Waterford Town Field, Ted Szall Field, Mill Village Elementary, Robison, Waterford Complex Fields 4 and 5 and one between 1 and 2. Handicap port-a-pot will be put on field 3. Gates also need to be installed at the Waterford Complex. Brian Mitchell will take care of spraying fields. Darlene will get spray from Hurst Potato.
INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: No new updates.
OLD BUSINESS: We need backing to apply for the Erie Community Grant. Waterford Township will help with this process.
NEW BUSINESS: Mike Hering, Greg Roberts and Randy Amon are resigning. All positions need to be filled. Jeff Kuzma will take Mike Herring’s place as Vice President, Trevor Donnell will take Greg Roberts place on field maintenance. Mike will complete picture commissioner position before leaving. We will need to find someone to take care of grant information.
