LeBoeuf Little League

The LeBoeuf Little League held their monthly meeting at the Waterford Boro Building. Garry Sargent called the meeting to order at 8:37 pm.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Income $5,223.00, Expenses $4,323.30. Approved by Mike Falk and seconded by John Davis.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: 4 sponsors and a hand full of fund raisers still needed to be turned in. Stromboli packs will be available at the Coaches meeting. Orders need to be called in by May 6 and Strombolis will be delivered May 20. Distribution place will be announced when established.

PICTURE COMMISSIONER: May 6, 2006 at the High School. Picture packets will be available at the coaches meeting. Trying to get pictures back in time for distribution on May 20th, the same day as strombolis. Logo will be on the plagues.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: $25.00 Donation was received from Robert Catlin Sr. Garry Sargent and Mike Herring met with Matthew Good on April 11th at the complex. LLL is hoping to receive support for State Money. An application is being sent but must be dated and returned by July 1, 2006. Mike Gallager took pictures and will take pictures during the tournaments and also come to regular season games. Pictures will be available to purchase. Sea Wolves is sponsoring a Pitch-Hit-Run on April 30th and May 13th is Pitch-Hit-Run at the Waterford Complex. Check LLL website for details. LeBoeuf Little League Sea Wolves day is July 17th. Boys Tournaments is set for June 10th & 11th. Union City Minor Boys & Instructional Girls Coaches will be at the Coaches Meeting.

BASEBALL COMMISSIONER: Open gyms completed. Great success with 20 to 25 players per night. There was 15 Regular Sessions, 7 T-Ball & 7 Pitching sessions. Dan Gallager was a great help in assisting with the program. A motion was made by Mark Rose to give him a $50.00 Gift Certificate from Waterford Hotel for his time and was seconded by Jeff Jones, All in favor. A big thank you was given to Jeff Kuzma & Kevin Litz for making nets for gyms. The nets need to go into storage at complex. Practice schedules are out. T-Ball schedules still needed. A coach is still needed for the Senior Boys League. 12 Players are already signed up. Back ground checks need to be returned to Mark Rose by next weekend. Coaches meeting will be Sunday, April 23rd from 4-6 pm at the Stancliff Hose Company. All team schedules, rule books, equipment, Picture packets, Stromboli packets, keys and uniforms will be available on that day. If the Coach can not attend please send assistant. Every team must be represented. There were lots of late sign ups and some players had to be turned away.

SOFTBALL COMMISSIONER: Schedules are done and distributed. Clinics are completed and had a great turn out. 25 to 42 players every night. 11-12 year old Tournament will be held in Harborcreek on May 19th – 21st. Waiting to hear for more information. Committee needs to be formed for the up coming Minor Girls Tournament. The 2 fields must be top shelve for this event. Shelters or dug outs need to be provided. The tournament will be held July 14th thru ?

UMPIRE COMMISSIONER: Training sessions going great. Last session is April 15th at 9:00. Coaches need to attend training sessions. Try to have the umpires attend scrimmage games. Jim needs game schedules so he can start scheduling umpires for games.

TOURNAMENT COMMISSIONER: There will be a Major Boys Tournament in Franklin during Memorial Day weekend.

SCHEDULING COMMISSIONER: If you need additional time for practice please make sure you call Jeff Luke.

UNIFORM COMMISSIONER: Will have the uniforms for distribution during Coaches meeting.

FIELD MAINTENANCE: Greg Roberts will be working on the Mill Village & Waterford Complex on April 14th at 9:00 am. Mark Rose will be at the Summit Complex the same day. Anyone available, please try to help. Field day will be April 22nd. Meet at Jakes by 6:00 am. Pond sill needed at Waterford Complex. A Kabota Tractor was purchased & delivered on April 8th at the Waterford Complex. The cost was $9.800.00. $5,800.00 was paid at the time of purchase and the balance of $4000.00 is due on October 14, 2006. If we want to finance the balance the interest rate would be 4.9%. Pennock will service yearly, sharpen blades and change fluids. If we have any problems with the tractor, please contact them.

EQUIPMENT COMMISSIONER: All equipment, balls and score books are in and will be distributed at the coaches meeting. Submitted bills from J & S Sporting Goods and Erie Sport Store for payment. Pricing is comparable in some areas but we need to consider the support that the leagues received from J & S Sporting Goods in the past years. League approved bats need to be purchased. A motion was made by Jeff Jones to allow $1000.00 to purchase legal league bats. Mark Rose seconded, all in favor. John Davis & Frank Conti will meet on April 22nd at Picnicana to go through all the bats and what is no longer good, take to Liberty Iron. Any money received from the recycled bats will go toward purchasing more bats. 4 pad locks are needed plus approx. 20 keys. 2 dozen yellow balls need to be purchased for the pitching machines.

INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: Insurance is covered January 1st thru December 31st.

Liability insurance needs to be paid as soon as possible. Joe Welch suggested $1,500.00 should be sent soon. Check will go out tomorrow. Insurance quote is need for Kabota. Mark Rose made a motion to spend up to $400.00 for insurance on tractor, Stuart Carr seconded, all in favor.

OLD BUSINESS: Gate needed for second drive. Oil Dry is need to condition fields. Jeff Jones made a motion to purchase a pallet of Oil Dry, Joe Welch seconded, all in favor. Pallet of lime needs to be ordered for lines. Rod Smith to order. DEP needs to walk around Waterford Complex with members of league so mowing areas could be determined. Still waiting for tax exemption status.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. People have asked if they are permitted to park closer to Waterford Complex #1 field for Handy Cap reasons. Permitted with coaches discression, weather permitting and they would park at own risk.

2. Equipment used at open gyms needs to be collected.

3. Please try to keep practice balls!
