LeBoeuf Little League

The LeBoeuf Little League held their monthly meeting at the Waterford Boro Building. The Meeting was called to order by Rod Smith at 8:48 pm.

ATTENDANCE: Steph Mitchell, Rod Smith, Garry Sargent, Mark Rose, Stuart Carr, Mike Falk, Darlene Haibach, Jeff Kuzma, Jeff Jones, Earl Cameron, Jeff Luke, Jim Dylewski, Bob Morgenstern, Brent Goodenow, Rich Goodenow, Brian Mitchell, Joe Welsh, Brian Wilson, Ted Johnson, Frank Conti, Joe McCall, Matt Stebick, David Fox, Matthew rose, Mike Hering, Paul Peters, Kevin Litz. Special guest: Steve Hering.

Steve Hering introduced himself as an Eagle Scout and asked permission to establish a score board for the boys baseball field at the Waterford Complex. A motion was made by Mark Rose and seconded by Rich Goodenow. A vote took place and all were in favor. Steve will gather details and get project approved through Boy Scouts.

SECRETARY: Minutes were read and approved by Mark Rose and seconded by Paul Peters.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Report enclosed. Report approved by Rich Goodenow and seconded by Brian Wilson.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: 23 kids have outstanding fund raisers, they will not receive uniform until paid. We had more sponsors than needed. Waste Management can perhaps sponsor the tournament. Need to give game schedules to sponsors. Stromboli forms will be passed out at picture day. There is Junior League try outs for 13-15 year olds at the Edinboro Elementary School Little League Fields April 16 and April 23 at 5 pm, rain date is April 24.

PICTURE COMMISSIONER: Packets ready to be handed out. Pick up date June 11, 12 during tournament at the Complex. Mike asked permission to get frames for the sponsors pictures, would cost about $75.00 for 37 teams. A motion was made by Stuart Carr and seconded by Earl Cameron. A vote was taken and all were in favor.

Mike addressed the Logo for the All-Star T-shirts. He will email to the company and see how they turn out. Arena apparel does not accept email so a vote was taken to try the new company. All were in favor.

SOFTBALL COMMISSIONER: Tom Roberts is working on schedules. Major teams will probably have to bring up minor girls to play due to shortage of girls this year. The three major teams have 9, 9, and 10 on their teams. Thanks to all who helped with the clinics, went very well.

BASEBALL COMMISSIONER: Clinics went well at Mill Village.

** Mandatory coaches meeting will be held Sunday, April 17, 2005 at 7 pm, at the Waterford Fire Hall. General meeting at the beginning and then age group meetings to go over rules, schedules, etc.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: Garry has information from the Erie Community Foundation in reference to grants for Erie County. This was given to Mike Hering to go over. The proposal form needs to be done by February 1, 2006. Teams can call Garry with their scores and he will get info to the newspaper. Garry asked that the league give a donation to the Fire Hall for allowing us to have numerous meetings there. A motion was made by Jeff Jones to donate $200.00 and it was seconded by Brian Wilson. A vote was taken and all were in favor. Web site doing well. Directions to all fields is on the website. Garry asked if the league would consider a donation to Mike Simon who passed away recently. We will see what fund is established and address at next meeting.

UMPIRE COMMISSIONER: Need to do inventory of boxes to get idea of what is needed for the umpires. Get inventory to Harold and he can work on equipment for umps. Jim passed around a hat/shirt for a cost of $25.00. He has 3 clinics scheduled for April. He received 217 rule books from Williamsport. Jeff Jones made a motion to allow Jim to receive 25 ump uniforms and this was seconded by Matt Stebick. A vote was taken and all were in favor. Umpire logs will be given to all coaches to keep track of games.

TOURNAMENT COMMISSIONER: No report.

SCHEDULING COMMISSIONER: All is going okay. Fields are all booked up.

UNIFORM COMMISSIONER: Matt will have the uniforms to hand out at the Pitch/Hit/Run April 23, at the complex.

FIELD MAINTENANCE: April 16, meet at 6:30 at Betty's Diner and 7:30 at the complex to start field work.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: $3080.00 has been spent so far on equipment, $1018 on field maintenance supplies. West End Community Center was asked if the $500 that they donated could be used on Umpire equipment for Summit. Rod sent a letter.

INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: Final fee needs to be determined and then remainder of premium will be sent in.

Need to gather equipment from in-door clinics to be stored for next year. Still need to address Western Auto field.

Pitch/Hit/Run to be held April 23 from 9-1, free to all kids.

NEW BUSINESS: Mill Village chain link fence was $1,163.45 for 150 feet of fence.

ADJOURNMENT: Joe Welsh made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:20 and this was seconded by Darlene Haibach.
